She graduated from Elmhurst High School.
Sharon was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She loved playing cards. Her true-life passion was being with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her neighbors and friends, as well. She was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother. She was one of the favorite neighborhood moms. She and Mel loved to travel with friends.
She is survived by her husband Melvin D. Patrick, her childhood sweetheart, whom she married on March 19, 1957. Their 69th wedding anniversary was less than 2 months away. Mel was her caregiver for almost 20 years – he was her Superman.
She is also survived by her children, Mitchell (Jody) Patrick of Fort Wayne, IN; Sue (Jim) Denney) of Roanoke, IN; Matthew “Bub” Patrick of Huntington, IN; Sandy (Wayne) Combs of Monroeville, IN; brother Thomas Uhrick of Fort Wayne, IN. Grandchildren, Jillian, Kelsey, Mel, Corbin, Stevie, Rachael, Andrew, and Trisha. Great-grandchildren, Jarren, Andrew, Allyssa, and Jillian.
A time of gathering will be Saturday February 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm with a time of sharing at 4:00 pm. at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home 6301 Fairfield Ave. Fort Wayne, IN.
