Sharon Lee Tieben, 80, passed away October 23, 2025, at Kingston Care At Dupont in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on March 10, 1945, in Blanchester, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Thelma Tedrick.
Sharon graduated from Blanchester High School in 1963. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University in 1967 and her Master of Science in Education from Indiana University in 1989.
Sharon worked in the role of book classification in the library at St. Francis College for many years leading up to her work with Fort Wayne Community Schools as a media specialist. Sharon was the media specialist at Elmhurst High School for 15 years before moving to the Lane Middle School library where she later retired.
Sharon was an avid collector of glass shoes, ceramic shoes and Just the Right Shoes. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the American Association of University Women. She ran the food pantry at the Leo United Methodist Church for several years. Sharon enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Tieben of Fort Wayne, IN; son, David (Drusilla) Tieben of Louisville, CO; daughter, Amber (Les) Ternet of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Judy Tweed and Susan (Ritchie) Taylor; brother, William Tedrick; and grandchildren, Abigail Becher, Emma Becher and Daniel Tieben.
Funeral service will be 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation starting at 12:00 pm until the time of service. Committal and Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
