Shawn Dustin "Dusty" Mock, 45, of Fort Wayne, passed away on April 27, 2020. Born on November 21, 1974, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Dennis R. Mock, and Linda K. (Blech) Mock, who survives. He is also survived by his wife Robin (Serovey) Mock; and son, Connor R. Mock.
Shawn “Dusty” Mock was very loved by many. He loved many in his own way. You knew what his passion was by his determination, and he didn’t stop until he got it. He enjoyed a challenge and tackled it with eagerness. He was a man who didn’t think twice to help people in need. He was very bright, smart with pulling information quickly in his head, was always full of ideas of everything he was interested in, and would draw people in with his enthusiasm. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit. His spirit was full of life, even when his body failed.
Shawn’s passion was cooking. He had a huge love for food. His entire career was working in restaurants. He was very prideful of his contribution to his job and enjoyed helping and serving the food to people. He enjoyed making meals at home as he was always looking up recipes and watching the cooking channel.
Shawn enjoyed watching movies like The Avengers, Star Wars, and his all time favorite - Back To The Future Trilogies. He would fall asleep to shows like Scrubs, and That 70’s Show with earbuds. Shawn’s love for motorcycles came from memorable moments with his late father Dennis. He talked about having rides with his son Connor. Now he and his father are riding the highways in heaven together. As a son, Dusty was there for his parents at the drop of a hat. As a husband, Shawn worked hard to make sure his wife was happy. His greatest accomplishment was becoming a father to his son, Connor, whom he loved oh so dearly and with all his heart, who will carry on his father's legacy - in mind, body and soul.
Connor's Poem to Daddy
Our family tree is the key,
For us to be a good family.
The tree stands strong,
To help our family move along.
The positive path we see,
Is a thing that people (not us) can’t be.
The positive guide is a sign,
That tells if the way is right.
The path leads to the tree,
That holds the key to all of our
Family.
The key to love and positive is,
The enemy to all negative.
The key has a power to wipe out all the negative forever.
The key’s keyring is platinum ring.
For our generations to come to pass it on,
To give to our future the platinum ring,
So our family will still be here forever.
For all the positive in the family tree.
A Celebration of Dusty's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.O.
