Shelba Jean Shaw, 89, of Grabill, IN passed away August 4, 2026, at The Cedars Retirement Home in Leo, IN. She was born November 5, 1936, in Grabill, IN, the daughter of David D. and Elsie M. Yoder (nee Klopfenstein).
Education: 12 years elementary & secondary and graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College.
Elementary School Teacher (Harlan, IN) homemaker, secretary, and volunteer.
Shelba’s passion in life was to love and serve the Lord, her family, church and her community. She loved music, playing the piano and singing with her husband at church. Her faith was central to who she was. She generously gave her time and talents to her church, serving others with humility and a willing heart. Whether offering comfort, lending a hand, or simply being present when someone needed her, she made those around her feel cared for and valued.
Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the church community she served, and the many lives she touched through her selfless acts of kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her faith, love, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her sons, David Shaw of Spencerville, IN; Tim (Jessica) Shaw of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Ali (Jake) Schdeider, Taylor Crowder, Sloan and Decker; and one great-grandson, Jaxson Schneider.
Shelba was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronald W. Shaw, on November 27, 2008.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2026, at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State Street, Grabill, IN. with visitation two hours prior. Committal and burial at Leo Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, IN.
