Sherry "Shell" Freeman, a native of Tuskegee, Alabama, passed away at the age of 78 on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Sage Bluff Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a son of the late Robert and Emma Freeman Sr.
Sherry retired from Dana Spicer Axle after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Bethenia Freeman; daughters, Glenda (James Sr.) Starks and Jonika (Nelson Harper Jr.) Freeman; brothers, Samuel (Birdia) Freeman and Rufus (Carolyn) Freeman; three sisters-in-law, Glennie Freeman, Linda Freeman, and Jacquelyn Paige; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Sherry's life and legacy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at New Covenant Worship Center, 3420 East Paulding Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46816), with visitation one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
