Shirley A. Burns, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020, at her home. Born June 14, 1936 in Lawrenceburg, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Clendus and Nancy (Burns) Massett. A graduate of Bright High School, she was wonderful homemaker and devout Christian. A loving and caring mother, her kids were her life and she was theirs. Her family’s guardian angel, her world revolved around her children and she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to yard sales with her daughter, listening to Bluegrass music, and excelled at cooking, especially fried chicken. She is survived by her children, Art Burns, Ralph Burns, and Tammy Thoms and her husband, Bill, all of Fort Wayne; son-in-law, Gary Grabowski of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Tommy, Curtis, and Brandon Francis; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Burns; daughter, Belinda Grabowski; and six siblings, Luella Rousey, Floyd, Robert, Louis, John, and Alan Massett. Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Advantage-Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior.
