SHIRLEY PHELPS, 61, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her residence. She was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Lancaster, Ky. She worked in Quality Control for L&L Fitting, and retired in 2008 after 14 years of service. She was a member of ABATE of Indiana. Surviving are son, Chris (Kristin) Phelps; mother, Cardelia Saylor; sisters, Jean (Jeff) Carboni-Parker and Lynn (Tony) Hughes; brother, Jim (Cindy) North; daughter-in-law, Diane Phelps; grandchildren, Samantha, Daniel and Jimmy; companion, Bumper; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Phelps. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at C.M. Sloan & Sons, 1327 Wells St. with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
