Born on July 21, 1945, in Fort Wayne, IN, he was a loving father to his twins, Diedre and Damian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Mary Ruth Logue Heine, and brothers, Stanley, Larry, and Bruce.
Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era 1966-1968. He then spent 35 years working as a School Psychologist for East Allen County Schools. He also found the time for his passion of helping others, working at the Woodburn Christian Children’s Home as a staff Psychologist for 40 years and continued to support for many more. His spirituality was strong as well, serving as a Deacon and Trustee at the West Milford Church of Christ.
Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. Dad enjoyed spending time with his close-knit group of friends and also enjoyed watching Indiana sports, often spending his weekends enjoying a game. His love for soccer was something he shared with his children.
He was a man of integrity, kindness and generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 30, 2026, at 1 pm at DO McComb Lakeside Park, 1140 Lakeside Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46805, with a Memorial Gathering two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodburn Christian Children’s Home, a cause close to Dad's heart.
