Stephen J. Ueber

STEPHEN J. UEBER, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at his residence. Born Oct. 4, 1931, in Fort Wayne, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired in 1986 after 31 years of service with IBM. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.Steve was an avid videographer, photographer, golfer, a Notre Dame football and auto racing fan. He was committed to daily Mass and Eucharistic Devotion at St. John the Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, and his faith never wavered. Surviving are his wife, Betsy; six children, Mark Ueber, Stephanie (Thom) Norris, Donna (David) Dent, Matthew (Judi) Ueber, and Jane (Jeff) Cole, all of Fort Wayne, and Tony (Kelly) Ueber of Las Vegas; honorary son, Roberto Coello-Polo; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette (Kenneth) Harber and Marian (Richard) Harber, both of Fort Wayne.Steve’s grandchildren are: Amanda Arnold (Josh), Celeste Norris, Tommy Dent (Amie), Emily Dent, Nicole Dent, Douglas Ueber, Emerson Ueber, Marie Ueber, Annie Ueber, Jade Van Gundy, and Grace Ueber. Steve’s great Grandchildren are: Maddox Arnold, Myah Arnold, and Beckett Arnold. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with Rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil service at 7 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
