Steven Monroe Blanchard, 73, passed away April 25, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 13, 1951, in Troy, New York, the son of the late Fred P. and Eleanor G. “Arnie” (Ewing) Blanchard.
He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Steven was a United States Navy veteran and served four years. He was a WWII enthusiast, reading books and watching documentaries.
He worked at Nickles Bakery as a delivery salesman and retired after 30 years. Steven had also worked full and part-time for Midwest Auto Parts and loved every minute of it.
Steven is survived by his wife of 46 years, Darlene J. (Hamric) Blanchard; daughters, Denise Blanchard, and Jennifer (Zachary) Murrell; granddaughters, Bailey and Emme all of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, David Blanchard of California; sister, Shirley (Tim) Brummett of Missouri; brother-in-law, David (Mary) Hamric of Huntington, IN; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 pm Tuesday May 6, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons - Maplewood Park -Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday May 5, 2025, at the funeral home. Committal and burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
