Steve was a good friend. I was surprised to see when  I looked him up to see where he was playing that he passed. When I would visit Ft Wayne he was always the first friend I would call. 
He was an excellent guitarist, maybe the best Ft Wayne had. We must have met 20 years ago and I thought he reminded me of Shunk Baxter of The Doobie Brothers recordings. I use to jam with his band. The last time we both played together and it was magic.
He had an insight and a way of expressing himself that was solid and true.
He always stood by his friends and would tell me stories about his family.
He will be missed.

I was thinking of Wildcat baseball and Spanish class. I remembered Steven. We played ball together at Kekionga Junior High School. Instead of the Bad News Bears, we were the Misfit Bears. And had a ball!

Steve taught me how to step into a pitch. I stopped being the King of the infield hits and found power.

AT Elmhurst, Steven and I had Mrs. Herrara in Spanish. I had been a super flake off in first year Spanish and without the help of Steven I would not have earned a C in her class.

I regret waiting so long to express my appreciation for Steven's kindness. Reading through the comments he remained the type of man would could be counted upon. He is missed.

my heart goes to those who knew and cared for steve !He was one of the best buds when i was younger and spent many evenings with him, PAULA and his little ones... and his "musings". May he Rock in peace.  He will be missed !!!

Steve certainly will be missed. Allways a friend and Brother in the world of music and the Blues. Steve was always encouraging to me and forthcoming in sharing knowlage of music, guitars, and amps. He really knew how to get the sound and dedliver those hot licks as only Steve can. I always enjoyed listening to him play. Rest in peace and may your great spirit endure.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing.  He was a good man and a good musician too.  My condolences to his family.

My condolences to Steve's family and friends. He was such a skilled musician and nice person to know. He was often compared to Eric Clapton and we all liked his persona. May his soul rest in peace.

I never met Steve, but Scripture tells us "you shall know a man by his fruit" and I know Mark, Steve's son, I can tell you Steve has really good fruit. My prayers are with all of Steve's family at this time of loss, and my hope is that they receive that peace that passes all understanding.

My condolences to the Knox family. Steve was a wonderful musician and friend.I worked with him on many occasions and I greatly admired his talent and quick wit, especially when it came to music. My prayers go out to his family and his friends. Steve will be sorely missed.....
