Sue (Driggers) Booth, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on May 7, 2026. Sue grew up in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and attended South Carolina Baptist Hospital where she earned her degree as a registered nurse.
In the summer of 1961, she met her future husband Tom Booth at Myrtle Beach, they were married in November, and their honeymoon consisted of the long drive north to Indiana. That whirlwind start turned into 64 wonderful years of marriage.
Sue began her nursing career at Lutheran Hospital. She later worked as a school nurse and concluded her career at the Allen County Board of Health. She was always considered an outstanding diagnostic nurse. She also worked at Super Shot and other health related programs.
Always a sports fan, Sue was a strong supporter of Indiana University basketball and football. She also took great pleasure in the sporting events of her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. For many years she enjoyed golfing and snow skiing.
Of course, her favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach. There were annual summer trips, and eventually Tom and Sue owned a place there which they enjoyed for years.
In her final years she took pleasure in meeting new friends and enjoying new activities at The Towne House.
Sue is survived by her husband Tom; her children Suzanne (Doug) Kaiser, and Tom (Tammy) Booth; her grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Phegley, Nicole McComb, and Tyler Kaiser; and her great-grandchildren Stella Phegley and Calvin Phegley.
