Well, if you are currently reading this obituary, then I have some sad news for you. My wordle streak has been broken for the last time. There was possibly nothing I hated more than when my wordle streak was broken. In addition to wordle, it would be correct to assume that connections, strands, spelling bee, letter boxed, the mini crossword (that would then be sent to Mason per our daily competition) and my daily solitaire goals were left undone as well. These were all typically completed, at least on a good day, while sipping coffee, with the Today Show on the TV, and a dog on my lap. It could possibly be called my ‘happy place’ but then that would be a lie.
My happy place was wherever my children were and watching them do whatever they loved. Along with Brett, Halle and Mason were the great loves of my life. I could not be more proud of them for simply being the people that they are. Of course they’ve accomplished any number of feats, but I am most proud of the adults they have grown to become; kind, hard-working, funny and amazing humans. I hope Brett and Halle find someone to call 3-10 times a day just to chat (hint: maybe each other!). And pray Mason finds someone someday he is willing to call at all. Just kidding Mas, we know you’re busy!
I regret having to leave these amazing souls along with my Mom, Dad and sister. I was truly blessed to have grown up in a loving family and then to create one of my own. My parents instilled, by example, unconditional love, hard work and the value of a dollar. They are the kind of parents that will do anything for their family; fix things around the house, cart grandkids to appointments, dog sit, pick up every single check when we ate out, and even sit with you during chemotherapy, a task I wish I had not had to put them through.
I was also blessed with amazing friends throughout my life. These are the kind of friends that would do anything for you and your family and their love and support has sustained us.
So, alas, I must admit I didn’t win a Nobel prize or scale Mount Everest. I certainly did not cure cancer (obviously). But I did have a wonderful life, a truly wonderful life. It was filled with all the little things that make life worth living and it was certainly filled with love. And as a parting blessing, I wish the same for all of you… a wonderful life full of love. As my Papa used to say, ‘Life is for the living’. And I will add, go out and live it!
