Ted served in the United States Army from 1954-1960, was the owner of Luce’s Auto Sale on Wayne Trace in Fort Wayne for 60 years and also worked at Interstate Trucking for 33 years. He was also a member of various car clubs in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Kensill-Grubb of Angola, IN and Tammy (Deron) Ballenger of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Gregory Luce of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Kerri Luce, Brooke (Eric) Todd, Andrew (Amy) Schmitz, Teri (David Predina) Luce, Jillian (James) Reid all of Fort Wayne, Christopher (Kinzie) Luce of Concord, NC, and Cassie (Trent) Hollifield of Pine Top, KY; great-grandchildren, Kallie, Memphis and Charli Williams, Dylan, Elyse and Brynn Todd, Oliver and Elliot Schmitz, Kadence and Grant Luce, Lily and Emma Hollifield, and Jeremiah Reid.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Barbara J. Luce; son, Darren Luce; brothers, Richard and Robert Luce; and sisters, Frances Shumaker and Lavene Patterson; and great-grandson, Jacob Reid.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5-8 pm Friday, September 19, 2025, at the funeral home. Committal and burial at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
