

Teresa “TT” Marie Tilbury, age 77, passed away at Kingston Residence of Fort Wayne on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Teresa began her life’s journey on October 4, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents Herbert and Agnes Tilbury (Meyer). She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt.
A lifelong member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Teresa devoted countless hours to helping her parish. Most well known for making homemade candy, Teresa worked with unwavering passion to making delectable treats for her community. Chocolate was her specialty, with turtles being a particular favorite. Teresa’s creativity was also displayed through her exceptional craftsmanship in ceramics. The love for her craft was evident in the extraordinary beauty of her creations. Whether it was organizing bake sales and craft shows, hosting Easter hunts and making Easter baskets, or holding Christmas parties where everyone received presents and Santa was a regular guest, Teresa was an incredible source of joy for her family. She also was a dedicated member of the church's rosary society. Outside of church, Teresa graduated from the International Business College and became an irreplaceable asset to General Electric as an Accountant. Over the course of 41 years of service, Teresa earned many accolades for her career. She became the first woman to be on the Board of Directors for the Midwest America Federal Credit Union.
Teresa was a beacon of warmth that will never be forgotten. She will always be remembered for her wild personality and blunt, sarcastic wit. She loved fishing, riding her horse, Jules, and had a unique love for skunks. Traveling held a special place in Teresa’s heart, especially with her parents in their RV. She also enjoyed collecting strawberries, decorating her kitchen with all sorts of strawberry imagery. As a specialty dish, Teresa would make chocolate-dipped strawberries for every party and wedding she attended. Watching TV, Teresa would undoubtedly have on either John Wayne movies, Disney, or the Peanuts Gang. When she spent time with her friends, Teresa loved playing cards.
Most importantly, Teresa held a great love for her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her family will forever cherish the memories made with their sister and aunt. Teresa is survived by her sister, Marleta (Donald) Rowdabaugh; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Agnes Tilbury; brothers, Arthur Tilbury and Joseph Tilbury; nephew, Michael Tilbury; and great-nephew, Aiden Mart.
Visitation for Teresa will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM, with a rosary immediately following at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:00AM, with calling one hour prior, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. Teresa will be laid to rest at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
