Terri S. Lahmeyer

Terri S. Lahmeyer, 62, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born on August 6, 1962, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to parents Vincent Gibson and Bonnie (Lloyd) Zent, Terri was well beloved as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor to so many. Growing up, Terri attended Emmanuel-St. Michael Lutheran School and was a 1980 graduate of Elmhurst High School. Terri remained an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church throughout her lifetime. She married the love of her life, Kurt Lahmeyer, on July 21, 1984, and they spent 41 cherished years together. In her younger years, Terri enjoyed bowling with local league teams, sharing strikes, spares, and fun memories with her husband and teammates. Later in life, she became an avid bingo player who found thrill in the chance of luck the game brought. A devoted homemaker and creative spirit, Terri had a true talent for making her house feel like a home. She loved decorating for every holiday, transforming each season into a celebration. Her home-cooked meals were served with great love and care. She also enjoyed browsing shopping catalogs. The outdoors brought her peace, whether it was gardening in her yard, watching the kids swim in the pool, or taking her grandchildren out fishing. Above all else, Terri treasured her family. She was a proud and supportive presence at all her grandchildren’s events. So many memories were made with her family that will always hold a special place in their hearts. Surviving Terri are her husband, Kurt Lahmeyer; daughters, Keri (Joey) Lefevra and Kelsi Lahmeyer; grandchildren, Landon Lahmeyer, Gracie Lahmeyer, Jonah Badillo, Annabelle Lefevra, and Drayah Lefevra; sisters, Vickie Hurst and Patti Churchill; and her most beloved dog, Mimi. Terri is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Gibson, Bonnie (Linnemeier) Zent, and stepfather, Lloyd Zent; children, Louis Lahmeyer and Holly Lahmeyer; and siblings, Mark Gibson, Scott Gibson, Kelly Gibson, Tammy Uhrick, and Butch Gibson. A funeral service will be held for Terri on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46808. She will be laid to rest at Prairie Grove Cemetery 6312 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46809. A memorial luncheon will be held at Southwest Conservation Club 5703 Bluffton Road immediately following the burial. Memorial contributions may be made out to Kurt Lahmeyer.
