MSgt. Theodore “Ted” Huff, Jr. (91), of Fort Wayne passed away this Sunday March 11, 2018. Ted was a wonderful father and loyal husband who devoted his life to both his family and the military. Ted was born August 2, 1926 to Teddy and Wrella Huff of Hamilton, OH. He attended Fairfield High School until joining the U.S. Navy in 1944 during World War II and continued serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After a 25 year career with the military, Ted received honorable discharge and retirement from the U.S. Military in 1968. After his retirement from the military Ted served the U.S. Post Office for 12 years, where he met his wife, Helen. He continued to be a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge and Air Force Association. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Helen (Castleman) Huff and his sons, Anthony Jay (Tony) of Fort Wayne and Theodore John (Teddy) of Chicago. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Holmes of Greenville, OH. Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Cheatham of Hamilton, OH and his parents, Teddy and Wrella (Sunderman) Huff. Ted’s greatest joys in life were enjoying homecooked meals with his wife, and watching his sons grow and become successful men. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on tv, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Purdue Athletics. He also loved being at home with his family. Service is 2:30 pm, Friday, March 16, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with Brian McNaughton officiating with an hour of calling prior to the service. Calling also from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 6:30 pm.
