

Thomas E. Malott, Jr., 73, of Fort Wayne passed away on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. He was born on November 18, 1938 in Fort Wayne to the late Thomas E. “Pete” and Evelyn (Jones) Malott, Sr. He was lovingly raised by his mother Catherine Malott. He retired from Nipsco. He was a member at St. Therese Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, a board member with the PSCU. He served the American Legion Post #241 as a past post commander, there he was active with the honor guard after serving with the Navy as a corpsmen to the Marines. His most precious treasures were his family. Surviving family include his wife of 48 years, Odelia A. “Dee” (Beckman) Malott of Fort Wayne; children, Ann (Raymond) Baxter of Yoder, Thomas J. (Heidi) Malott, Suzanne (Michael) Sharp, Patricia (Gerald) Bergoff, Sarah (Timothy) Stein, Jennifer (Michael) Craver all of Fort Wayne; siblings, James Malott of Fort Wayne, Donald Malott of Elkhart, Sheila Buckles, Kathy Malott both of Fort Wayne, Donna Haddaway of Jacksonville, Fl, Joseph Malott, Virginia Barrand both of Fort Wayne; 32 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Garry Malott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Tuesday April 10, 2012 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. A rosary service will take place at 7:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery-Hessen Cassel. Memorials may be made to Women’s Care Center, Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, or NE Indiana Cancer Services.
