Thomas G. Peting was born on April 09, 1946 to Earl and Marie (Mountz) Peting in LaPorte, Indiana. His 77 years here were like most of us, filled with joy, sorrow. love, loss, and adventure. He never let anything stop him from doing what it was he wanted to do, and loved his family more than they could know. In his early Years, he participated in 4H and scouting becoming an eagle scout as well as well as hunting and fishing. Fresh out of LaPorte High School, he joined the Navy serving 7 years as a radar technician while also travelling the world before returning home to settle down.
He marrie an amazing woman, worked very hard, and supported his family. His love of nature continued into his adult years. Tom loved hiking and camping with his wife Paula at Indiana's many state parks. Some of his hobbies included bird watching, reading, bowling, and card playing. Although he was generally a very quiet and reserved person, he had a gigantic heart of gold. He showed this through his protectiveness over women, children, and animals. He rescued as many animals as he could be responsible for and adopted a daughter who very much needed a family, probably as much as he desired to be a father. When something mattered to him, he made it known through his actions as well as his words. He was honest, caring, loving person who cared very little about material things and mostly abourt the things money could never buy in life. He taught morals, values, respect, and compassion through actions on a daily basis. Those closest to him got the best side of him. He was stubborn sometimes, but his orneriness and humor made even the saddest of people crack a smile or giggle. It could be as simple as sticking his tongue out at you or funny faces. the worst of the dad jokes came out and endless pranks to boot. He was a once in a lifetime person and the world feels a little more empty and a bit less bright knowing he is no longer here. His loved ones are comforted knowing that we will see him again one day.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Peting, brother David Peting, sister Patricia Faulstich, and nephew Ben(Leah) Richardson. he was preceded in death by his wife Paula, his parents, brother Paul Peting, and brother-in-law Chris Faulstich. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday April 22, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at C. M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 N.
