Thomas E. Schober

Thomas Eugene Schober, 62, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 17, 1950 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Merle T. and Barbara J. (Cox) Schober. He worked as a corrections officer in Alexander County, North Carolina and also worked for the Taylorsville Sheriff department in North Carolina. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved his job. Surviving family include his loving wife of 41 years, Beverly S. (Sparkman) Schober of Fort Wayne; son, Kit (Christine) Morton of Statesville, N.C.; 4 grandchildren, Tangela Ireland, Jason Morton, Scotty Shoemaker, Chasity Shoemaker; 2 great grandchildren, Lathan and Cason Shoemaker; siblings, Michael Schober of Fort Wayne, Peggy Rowley of Fort Ann, N.Y., Nancy Smith of Ossian; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina M. Shoemaker. Visitation will be from 1-3 and 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Further ceremonies will take place in North Carolina at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
