

Thomas H. Shoup, 62, died April 6, 2016, at his home in Ft. Wayne. He was born on February 9, 1954 in Ft. Wayne to Harold and Roberta Shoup and graduated from South Side High School in 1972. He was active in Boy Scouts and a member of South Wayne United Methodist Church. He took an early interest in architecture and attended Ball State University, earning Bachelors degrees in architecture and environmental design in 1978. As a registered architect he worked at firms in Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne on the design and construction of healthcare, educational, and commercial facilities. He volunteered his talents in the reconstruction and completion of the Samaritan’s House in Ft. Wayne in 2003. Tom enjoyed all aspects of horticulture and created beautiful gardens at his home. He was also an avid home remodeler. He enjoyed instrumental music and composed original pieces for piano. He was skilled in digital photography. Tom’s “kids” were his cats; he had compassionately rescued many strays over the years and gave them their full 9 lives. Survivors include a brother, Ronald Shoup (Jane) of Lafayette IN; niece, Sarah Jane Olsen (Josh) of Santa Monica, CA; nephew, Jason Andrew Shoup (Carrie) of Altadena, CA; and great niece Linley Mae Shoup; along with many cousins in Florida, Illinois, and Missouri; aunt, Dale McMahon in Eau Claire, WI; and an uncle, William DeBoeuf in Washington, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne 46804 with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
