Velma Faye Welch, 89 passed away Sunday December 12, 2021 surrounded by her family in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born August 29, 1932 in Clay County, KY., the daughter of the late Gilbert and Sara Brown. She graduated from Oneida Baptist Institute in Manchester, KY in 1950. Velma retired after 20 years, with a successful career in accounting in Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Donald R. Welch of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Donna Asher of Cincinnati, OH; Deborah (David) Teed of Poulsbo, WA; son Terry Welch of Laotto, IN; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Velma was preceded in death by her brother Thurman Brown.
