Vickie graduated from Seymour High School, Seymour, IN and earned her degree from Indiana University as the class valedictorian in 1977, majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science.
She was a parole officer for the state of Indiana Department of Corrections for 42 years, retiring in 2021.
Vickie was a member of Blackhawk Christian Church and participated in the Living Christmas Tree program. She was a true “Griffinite” and had a passion for crafts, making cards, gift boxes, gift purses, and scrapbooks for family as well as various craft venues.
She is survived by her sister, Lorrie Pearson of Seymour, IN; nephew, Nathan (Bree) Richart of Hayden, IN; niece, Emilie (Austin) Snyder of TN; great niece, Delainey Giles; great nephew, Malachi Giles; aunt, Cheri (Steve) Hull, of AZ; and many cousins in Seymour, IN, KY and FL; and her dog, Gracie.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, and stepmother, Donald D. and Keiko Conquest; mother and stepfather, Reba E. and Louis E. Hallett; paternal grandparents, Charles and Emilie Conquest; and maternal grandparents, Martin and Drusha Caudill.
Funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation two hours prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Wayne Humane Society or National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) which helps support persons that are reentering society after incarceration.
