

On October 4, 2024, Victoria G. (Reese) Wilkerson, 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away after a brief illness. Born to Otis and Dorothy Reese, Vickie attended Central High School and in October of 1960, married John E. Wilkerson and became a stay-at-home-mom to Jacqueline Wilkerson, Christina (nee Wilkerson) Northrop, and Timothy Wilkerson. She then embarked upon a career with Fort Wayne Community Schools as support staff that lasted 33 years. Vickie was especially grateful for all the years she worked in the athletic department at North Side High School. Vickie’s love of sports led to a long and fulfilling career that made her famous for saying, "I love my job!” Vickie was a parishioner at St Michael Lutheran Church, on Getz Road in Fort Wayne and avidly participated in a group known as JOY and it did bring her joy to be a part of their activities. St. Michael Lutheran Church was a second home to Vickie. She is survived by her sister, Judith (Reese) Overholt; three children, her grandchildren, Matthew Wilkerson and Miranda Belles; as well as four great-grandchildren, Maxwell Wilkerson, Sofia Wilkerson, Isaac Eddy-Belles, and Eleanor Eddy-Belles. A memorial service will be 12:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior.
