REV. VIRGIL N. BIXLER, 93, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. Born in Elkton, Mich., he was a son of the late Erwin and Melvina Bixler. Virgil worked as pastor of Missionary Churches in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana for over 50 years. Surviving are his spouse, Leona Bixler; daughter, Sheryl (Timothy) Steiner of Archbold, Ohio; son, Jay (Deborah) Bixler of Lafayette, Calif.; daughter, Joy (Rex) Forbes of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 6 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Virgil was also preceded in death by brother, Blanchard Bixler; sister, Bernice Bixler; sister, Faythe Outcalt, and brother, Leon Bixler. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at First Missionary Church, 701 W Rudisill Blvd., with calling an hour prior.
