

William “Bradley” Hollis, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital. Born December 5, 1935 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late William R. and Marjorie A. (Slack) Hollis. He attended piano tuning school in Chicago and built a successful career tuning and rebuilding pianos. He was also a gifted woodworker and hand crafted many beautiful pieces for his children and grandchildren. He had a deep love of the mountains and owned property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for several years. He spent numerous summers in the shadows of the Teton Mountains and worked for the national park service in Teton Park. He also loved to fly fish and hike the mountain trails. One summer he summited the Grand Teton. He married his high school sweetheart, Julie (Motz) Hollis who preceded him in death October 12, 2022. They traveled the world and returned home with souvenirs that included a piece of the Berlin Wall and a 6 foot 600 pound terracotta China man warrior. He spent numerous hours at his church singing in the choir, landscaping the church grounds, and serving as a church deacon. One of his favorite sayings was “I am a committee of one.” He is survived by his daughter, Laurie (David) Burke, of Keller, Texas; and his son, Kent Hollis, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and his sister, Sally Snyder. Joint Funeral services with his wife’s service will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 729 West Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN, 46802 with visitation beginning at 9:30am at the Church. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. Contributions in Bradley’s memory may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
