On Friday, October 21, 2022, Warren Douglas Schladenhauffen passed away at his home in LaGrange, Indiana, with his family by his side. Warren, or Doug to his family and church friends, was seventy. Born in Bluffton, Indiana, to Warren Albert and Marjorie (Steffen) Schladenhauffen, he was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, and earned a baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University, West Lafayette.
Warren is survived by his wife of 36 years, Candace (Smith) Schladenhauffen; his sister, Ann Marie (L. Jay) Liechty; mother-in-law, Patricia R. Smith; aunts, Leota Reinhard and Judith Harrington; nephews, Derek (Molly) Liechty, Austin Dickson, and Cameron Hull; nieces, Angela (Adrian) Engelberth, Brittney (Jonathan) Brokaw, and Kachina Hull; sisters-in-law, Christina (Paul Mike) Zins and Cynthia Hull; as well as many beloved cousins, second-cousins, great nieces and nephews, and his four-legged best buddy Riggs.
A dedicated and meticulous pharmacist, Warren served Northeast Indiana patients and clients in both hospital and retail settings with kindness and compassion for 45 years. Warren was a man of warm smiles, quiet determination, few words, a tender heart, and many interests. He was a devoted fan of NASCAR and the Chicago Blackhawks. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, good food, good beer, a great Euchre hand, golfing, action movies, Star Trek, Star Wars, and his Traeger and Blackstone grills. He loved trips to Disney World, and sharing all these things with friends and family. What gave him the most joy though was being on the water. As a young boy he discovered a love for lake life and boating that lasted throughout his life. Inspired by his uncle, Warren became a volunteer firefighter for St. Joseph Township where he earned his First Class Firefighter designation, and was a proud recipient of the Bryce Martin "Firefighter of the Year" award.
