

Wayne H. Rolf, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Saint Anne Home. Born June 13, 1918, he was the son of Fredrick J. Rolf and Pauline C. Greiner. He attended Leo High School, South Side High of Fort Wayne and graduated from Orlando Senior High School in Orlando, FL in 1938. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He worked at Colonial Oil Co., Fort Wayne and E.H. Rolf Coal and Supply Co. before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in March, 1941. He served in the Pacific, mostly in the Aleutian Islands as a member of Aviation Patrol Squadrons as an Aerographer’s Mate (WX Technician). After he served time in the Navy, he worked at Parrot Packing Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1981 as a route salesman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Dorothy McLaughlin Rolf, in 2003, sisters, Ruth Rolf and Velma Brouwer, and brother, Herbert Rolf. Survivors include his daughter, Charlene (Dan) Holly, of Fort Wayne; sons, Eric (Peggy) Rolf, of Port Clinton, OH; Theodore J. Rolf and Thomas F. (Vicki) Rolf, both of Fort Wayne; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and brother, Ramon (Dorothy) Rolf, of Bonita Springs, FL and Midland and Kewadin, MI. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am Friday, March 16, 2012 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Clinton St. with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Wayne St. Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St. with a rosary recited at 5 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
