My exposure to Coach Coonan was via the City Light Baseball League at City Utilities Park, then the Wildcat program which he helped launch.  His positive, encouraging ways were truly a blessing for so many young people throughout his long career.  I was proud to introduce him to my sons at a Wildcat reunion event.  God bless you, Coach.

Coach Coonan was truly an inspiration to me and helped guide me into teaching and coaching. Enjoyed so much playing ball for Coach, his classroom teaching, his special presence at my induction into the Hall of Fame at Saint Francis and the many memories from those great 1960s. May the family be blessed and comforted by all who knew him.

Coach Coonan was an inspiration to all of us that had the benefit of his Christian approach every day at basketball practice. No one could have set a better example of what fatherhood was all about. I have tried to emulate those lessons throughout life. Thanks Coach.

   Remembering the wonderful times we had together with our close St. Vincent's group, when we lived there, back in the '60's & '70's. Our Children went to grade school & Bishop Dwenger together!  Dolly & Family, your Husband, Dad & Grandfather (Fr. Terry was a Deacon at our St.Michael's briefly) was a perfect example of what a Husband & Father should be like! Coach was a terrific person.  He molded many people to greater heights  then they thought possible.  He was a real inspiration to many students.  Also, the best basketball coach Huntertown ever had.  Our thoughts and prayers to the entire family.
