Bill graduated from North Side High School in 1960. He enlisted in the military and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp, receiving an honorable discharge in 1965.
Bill was a proud 33rd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite and a member of Wayne Lodge #25 F&AM in Fort Wayne. Bill was an avid fisherman and a wonderful papa. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his three children, Megan (Joshua) Muth, Joel (Tia) Brecount, and Steven Brecount; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne Doctor; his parents; and his brother.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes- Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, with visitation one hour prior. Friends and family will be received 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the funeral home; committal and burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, 2403 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Masonic rites will be 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the funeral home.
