OBITUARY
William E. Kindred
July 18, 1929 – April 4, 2016
WILLIAM EARL KINDRED, 86, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Parkview Hospital. Born July 18, 1929, in Franklin, Ohio, he was a son of Earl Kindred and Leona Hawthorn Kindred. He retired as a metallurgist with Dana Corp. and worked for International Harvester. He was a HAM radio operator (WA9RAP) and for 50 years he taught code and tested many HAM operators. He was Past President of Fort Wayne Radio Club. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dolores C. (Miller) Kindred of Fort Wayne; son, Dr. Michael (Pam) Kindred of Lexington, Ky.; daughter Laura Ford of Monroe, N.H.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary E. (Gary) Sellars of Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, James; sister, Wilma; and son-in-law, Stan Ford. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. Calling also from 5 to 7 Friday, April 8, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen or The Salvation Army.
