William Wood Lunde, of Fort Wayne Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 24th. Bill was born January 6, 1925 in Lake City, Minnesota; he was 96. He retired from the United States Air Force and served during WW2, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy, his son Roger Peterson, and daughters Kathy Stringer, Karen Lunde (Tina), Debra Kilgore, Diane Bickford (Carl), and Brenda Dickerson (John), 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Milton and mother Josey, his sister Elizabeth Holt, brother Julian Lunde, son in-law Todd, and daughter in-law Bonnie.
Visitation will be from 9am to 11am with funeral service following at 11am at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN on Saturday, September 4th. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, following a military funeral.
