

William Angus McAntire passed away in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 20, 2025. Angus was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 15, 1948 to William Alexander McAntire and Betty Jayne (Sauls) McAntire. He grew up in the Village and attended Andrew Johnson Elementary School before graduating from John Marshall High School in 1966. He treasured his school memories and his friendships with his classmates. He graduated from Central State University (now UCO) in Edmond, Oklahoma with both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education.
Angus taught in the Oklahoma Public Schools his entire career. He taught History at John Marshall HS and also served as the Student Council faculty sponsor. He also taught History and was the Gifted and Talented Coordinator at Mustang HS and Putnam City North HS. After retirement, he acted as a test proctor for many exams, including the SAT, the Oklahoma Bar Exam, and the Crane Operator exams.
In 2021, Angus made the move to Fort Wayne, Indiana to spend more time with his daughter and grandson and their family. He was welcomed warmly into the Cox and Motz families, and enjoyed the friendships he made with them all.
Angus loved old cars, jigsaw puzzles, American history, John Wayne and Tarzan movies, and his family. He was a man of simplicity. He was always true to himself, and honored his word to the letter in all things. He was particularly proud of his grandson, Caleb, who is attending school at Oklahoma City University.
Angus is survived by his brother, Cameron (Kelli) McAntire of Yukon, OK, his daughter Mindy (Jeff) Cox of Fort Wayne, IN, and his grandson Caleb Cox.
There will be no services, but he is celebrated in all the lives he touched. His headstone can be found in Fairlawn Cemetery in Oklahoma City, next to his beloved parents.
