Woodford Eugene Muncie

Woodford Eugene Muncie, 95, of Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away October 21, 2020. He was born March 2, 1925 in West Liberty, KY to the late Bruce and Suzie Muncie. Woody had many jobs in his long life, including helping his father shoe horses as a blacksmith. He retired from Falstaff Brewery in 1987 after 33 years, previously Berghoff Brewery where he also worked. Woody worked at Ft. Wayne City Glass, Magnavox, Joslyn Steel Mill and on the Indiana and Ohio Turnpike in the early 1950’s. He also sang and played the guitar with the Troubadours. He loved golf, bowling and horseshoes and won awards in each. Surviving are his children, Gary (Lee) Muncie, David (Pat) Muncie, Maurice (partner Connie) Muncie, Kem (Hortensia) Muncie, Lisa (Ron) Behrer; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren and his brother, Jerry Muncie. Woodford was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Carrie May, in 1997, sisters Ethel, Opal, Betty Ann, Rose, Lavina; brothers Edgell, Chester, Ovey, Winford and Dee. A Celebration of Life will be 3pm November 7, 2020 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lake Ave 1140 Lake Ave with visitation one hour prior. Memorials to Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
