Zeno Joseph Nix

Zeno J. Nix, 87, of Fort Wayne, died on December 17, 2013 at his home. Born March 20, 1926 he was a son of the late Florence and Theresa Nix. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, retired from GTE and served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Helen E.; children, Barbara (Michael) Roberts, Stephen (Tanya) Nix, Philip (Kathie) Nix, Jeffrey Nix, Marilyn Nix, Sarah Didier, Gerald (Barb) Nix, Mary (Scott) Wertz; sisters, Armella Scott, Catherine Scharlach, Pauline Baker; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Bernardine Koch, Annette Imm, Kenneth Nix, Lorena Bugbee, Eugene Nix, Thomas Nix; and daughter-in-law, Elena Nix. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Saturday, December 21, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1102 South Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday, December 20, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 3:30 PM. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given for masses, to the Franciscan Center, St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen and EWTN.
