Born on April 9, 1933 in Malone, Texas, on her parent’s farm. She was baptized in at Salem Lutheran Church in May of 1933 and had her confirmation on June 2, 1946. As a young child her family moved to Bynum, TX where they were farmers. She graduated from Bynum High School in 1950, she was a guard and part of a great basketball team and they went to state their Senior year. After graduation she moved to Fort Worth with her cousin and friend Ruth, they were working at Ranch Style Beans, where she met James Paul her 1st husband, they were married 16 years, they had four children, Patricia, Beverly, and twins Karen and James. She later married Donald Capps for 10 years and gained a son Greg Capps and wonderful in-laws Sid and Lois Capps. She married Earl Paul, and they were married until he passed away in 1989.
Adelle enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing games (especially 42), gardening, watching tv some of her favorite shows were Dr. Quinn, Blue Bloods, NCIS, she was also an avid reader. She would go and visit her Mom on Sunday afternoons. In her early years she was a waitress, at one she was a clerk at Stop-N-Go as well as 18 years at 7-11, retiring at 75. She drove for Meals-on-Wheels for several years to give back and help others.
Adelle was a devout Lutheran all of her life, she was a Member of Zion Lutheran Church for 65 years where she sang in the choir and helped make braille. She became a member of Messiah Lutheran Church until she passed away. She would daily sit down to spend time with the Lord and read her bible and Portals of Prayers. In her faith she never feared death and was looking forward to being with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and seeing all her loved ones in Heaven.
She is survived by two daughters Beverly Knowles and husband William, and Karen Pruitt. One daughter in law Cynthia Paul. Grandchildren – Christina Bable, Melissa Ascencio and husband Santos, Christopher Paul and wife Jenna, Jaime Paul, James Knowles and wife Rachel, Aaron Pruitt, Jessica Read and husband Jeremiah, Katrina Tidwell and husband Kirk. Great-Grandchildren Ethan, Lucas and Benjamin Paul, Hunter Read and Olivia Ascencio. Brother Roy Markwardt and sister Linda Neal. Sister in laws Josephine and Sandra Markwardt. She had many nieces and nephews and cousins she loved dearly and well as many extended love ones. Once you were family in her eyes you were always family, no matter what. Many Grandcats, granddogs, and a grandbunny.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Paul, parents Ed and Norma Markwardt, daughter Patricia Bable and Son James Paul, Jr. And three brothers Edward (Hoot), Dalton (Butch) and Arthur Markwardt and Sister-in-Law Yvonne.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the viewing at Laurel Land 7100 Crowley Road, Ft. Worth, TX 76134 Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be at the same location at 2pm Thursday, April 22, 2021 with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
After the funeral there will be a gathering to celebrate her life and memories at the home of Karen and Aaron Pruitt.
