
Alece Martino passed away October 16, 2015 at her home in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Alece was born on July 12, 1930 in Milo, Oklahoma the daughter of Avo and Assa Redd. Alece grew up in rural Carter County, Milo, OK and attended Douglas High School in Lawton, OK. While at a USO dance she met her future husband, Sgt. Major James H. Martino, who was an Army corporal stationed at Fort Sill. They married in 1947 and were married 55 years. Over the years as a military wife, Alece raised 5 children, moving several times to Army Forts across the country and twice to Germany. She was a neighborhood Girl Scout Leader, an excellent seamstress and a devout Christian who loved the Lord. Her favorite activities included gardening, reading, cooking, and sewing. Alece worked for many years at JC Penny's and retired as a Gold Standard Employee. She loved people and was an excellent host with a smile and conversation for all she met. Alece was preceded in death by her husband James Howell Martino, and is survived by her sister, Billie D. Murray of Aurora, Colorado; her children, Anita Martino of Phoenix, Arizona; James Martino; Cynthia Martino of Fort Worth, Texas; Elizabeth Martino-Davis of Fort Myers, Florida; Elaine Martino- Hammonds Of Dedham, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Alicia Martino, Amalia Martino, Chrishelle Wheeler, Myles Hammonds, Kenisha Ferrell, Kayla Hammonds, and Arianna Hammonds; great-granddaughter Sophia; favorite niece, Norma Jean Hamilton; her faithful companion Kwaii; and a host of many relatives and devoted friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memories will live in our hearts forever.
