Alex Elder, Jr. was born on March 12, 1946, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of Alex Elder, Sr and Elmese Lyons Elder. He transitioned from his earthly existence to eternal rest on September 24, 2026. Growing up in the small rural town of Rayville, LA, his formative years were spent in the Booker T Community where he was baptized by Rev. James H. Stewart, becoming a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. In his home, church, and community, he developed a loving heart, kindness, compassion, and a desire to support others who were in need.
After graduating from Eula D. Britton High School in Rayville, Alex joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded several certificates and medals, including the Bronze Star for bravery and meritorious service and the Purple Heart for wounds received in action.
Following his service in the Army, Alex held jobs in the construction industry for a short time before moving to Fort Worth, Texas. He was hired by Foremost Dairies, where he spent 14 years before the company merged with Schepps Dairy. Alex excelled at Schepps, working there for 27 years before retiring, ending a 41-year career in the Dairy Industry, retiring as a Production Supervisor.
Alex demonstrated his leadership skills within the community through his involvement in several organizations.
