Alice Nadine Bedford, a beloved wife, mother, Nannie, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Haltom City. Born on December 20, 1944, in Miami, Oklahoma, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Alice was the cherished daughter of the late Willard and Pearl Burress.
Alice was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Gary Bedford, in Watauga, Texas. Their union, which spanned 23 wonderful years, was a testament to their enduring love and companionship. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Alice embraced life with a vivacious spirit and a heart that knew no bounds. She was a proud member of the North Fort Worth Baptist Church, where she found community and faith. For 25 years, Alice dedicated herself as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, delivering not just meals but kindness and compassion to those in need. Her dedication to service was also evident in her over 50-year membership with the Haltom City Moose Lodge, where she was honored to serve as the Deputy Grand Regent of Texas.
Her life was a tapestry woven with the threads of family, friendship, and adventure. Alice had a love for travel that took her to new places, but her heart always remained with her family. She found immense joy in being with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, for whom she loved shopping and creating special memories. Her unique style, including a fondness for animal prints and sparkling jewelry, was a reflection of her vibrant personality.
Alice is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willard and Pearl Burress; her sons, Randy and Billy Hawkins; and her dear sisters, Pat Ratliff and Dean Bailey. She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Bedford; her loving daughter-in-law, Krista Hawkins; and her cherished sisters, Pearlene Brackett and Deborah Farr, along with Deborah's husband, Earnest. Alice also leaves behind her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Alice's honor to the Haltom City Moose Lodge, continuing her lifelong commitment to community service.
