

She was born on August 14th, 1947, to Betty and Ellis Burns in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Alicia received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She went on to receive her master’s degree from North Texas University in Denton, Texas. Alicia worked for the Fort Worth Independent School District all her life until her retirement. She held the positions of teacher, vice principal, principal and director of elementary education. As a principal, Alicia, and her team, brought a number of those schools from a failing status to a status of exemplary.
Alicia married Harold Gene Hyman in 1970 and they were married for 56 years. Most importantly she loved Jesus and He is her savior. She loved her husband and he loved her, and she loved her kids and grandkids. Alicia really enjoyed playing cards and rummikub with her friends at different houses during the week and after church on Sundays. She also really enjoyed going to eat lunch after church on Sundays with her friends. Alicia loved her yard and the way her husband kept it in tip top shape for her.
She is survived by her husband Harold Gene Hyman. Her oldest son Hayden Hyman and his wife Lisa Hyman and her two granddaughters Kolby Hyman and Leighana Hyman. Her youngest son Cody Hyman and his wife Megan Hyman and her granddaughter Ella Hyman and two grandsons Colt Hyman and Coy Hyman. And by her sister Sheila Vinson.
