Alton joined the Army in 1959 and retired after 24 years of dedicated service to his country as a Master Sergeant.
He married Dee Gressett on June 15, 1961, and they raised three children; Roger Wesley, Donna Kay and Ronny Wayne.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Dee and his son Roger.
Left to cherish his memory are son Ronny Wayne Hovis, Donna Kay Hooper (Tony), daughter in law Eileen, granddaughters Allysa & Rebecca, grandsons Wesley and Martin, great-grandchildren Zoey, Zach and Liam, and the cherished Brown family.
