
Amy Evelyn Henderson ARLINGTON -- Amy Evelyn Tompkins Henderson was called home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Monday at Masonic Retirement Center, 1501 W. Division in Arlington. There will be an Eastern Star burial ceremony at the memorial performed by South Fort Worth Chapter. Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, Amy will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Memorials: Instead of flowers, please make donations to the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington. Amy was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Itasca. Her parents were Leslie and Lela Tompkins. She was the youngest of 11 children. On March 12, 1954, she married H.T. Henderson and later they had two sons, Hollie and Hobie Henderson. She worked over 20 years in the office of Samsill Plastics Corporation, and then later retired from Fort Worth ISD as a mail clerk. She was a member of South Fort Worth Chapter #835 and TMRC Daylight Chapter #1145 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Bluebonnet Court #3, Order of the Amaranth. She had been a resident of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center for the last nine years. The family wants to thank both Community and Grace Hospices for the care given to her in her final days, as well as the loving care given by the Nursing and Activities Staff at TMRC. She was predeceased by her husband, H.T.; son, Hollie; daughter-in-law, Mary; her parents; and nine siblings. Survivors: Sister, Lela "Betty" Boyd; son, Hobie and daughter-in-law, Patricia; granddaughters, Toni and her husband, Anthony; and Hollie and her husband, Craig; grandson, Hobie and his lady, Hollie; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-niece, Mary Jane Starnes; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
