Ann Tarpuh Banks Makor, age 63, passed away peacefully November 9, 2020. She was born June 16, 1957 in Monrovia, Liberia to Phillip Alexander Zeus Banks and Josephine Horace. In 1969, she met the love of her life, Freeman Queyoun Makor and married in 1979. From this union came 5 children, Queyoun, Shiattin, Monuplea, Hilyale, and Hungo.
Ann affectionately called the “Queen” loved to dance, sing, serve, and help others. She loved her family, friends, and church. She was a hard worker and dedicated her life to her family. She looked forward to more grandchildren to spoil and enjoyed walking daily, reading her bible, dancing, and planning out her retirement. Ann was the first one on and the last one off the dance floor. With an attitude of gratitude, Ann focused on abundance, not lack. She lived for humanity and spreading joy.
Ann worked at Medical Center of Arlington for over 20 years and it suited her servant heart. She always checked on friends and family who were there and reassured them that everything would be ok. Oftentimes, she was the first reassuring and friendly face that they saw when they woke up from surgery. She lit up and room and her laughter could be heard all around.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents Josephine Horace and Phillip AZ Banks, son Queyoun Makor, sisters Elizabeth Banks Giah and Stella Banks, and brothers Bonaparte Banks and Thomas Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Freeman Makor; her 2 daughters Shiattin Makor and Monuplea Makor and son-in-love Yoann Tagro; sons Hilyale Makor and Hungo Makor; grandchildren Arilynn Makor and Ayere Tagro; Brother-in-law Nyan and Iris Gleebehai; Sister in law, Margie Cooper. Sisters, Josephine Kromah, Pandora Grimes, Rose Banks Wiltshire, Doris Banks, Sophie Banks, Phillip AZ Banks IV, Precious Moore, Alex Banks, and Ronnie Banks, and her many siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
All of these she loved and touched deeply.
