A Visitation for Ann will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112.
Funeral Service will occur Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM, Burial to follow at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
Ann was born June 26, 1932, in Creek, TX. Before coming to Ft. Worth in 1949 she lived in Amarillo, TX and West Bend, WI. Dr. Arnold held degrees from Texas Wesleyan University and the University of North Texas. She was a FWISD teacher, counselor, and administrator prior to her retirement in 1990.
Her interest in Ft. Worth history led to the publication of four books, including bestseller, Gamblers and Gangsters: Ft. Worth’s Jacksboro Highway in the 1940’s and 1950’s.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leonard Arnold, her sons Stan and Steve Arnold, sisters Jean Butler of Brownfield, TX and Dorothy Duenkel of West Bend, WI.
Survivors include Judy Arnold of Ft. Worth; sister Joyce Bartlett of Hudsonville, MI; grandson Chad Hill of Trophy Club; granddaughters Stephanie Hyde and husband Paul of Granbury; and Beverly Huddleston of Ft. Worth. Great-grandchildren include Lillie, Lucas and Brylea Hyde, Caleb and Eli Hill, and Merrick Huddleston, and many nieces and nephews.
