A Life of Love, Grace, and Dedication: May 15, 1943 – May 30, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Maureen Wakefield Dews, a cherished individual whose life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering strength. Anne left us peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and care of those who loved her most.
Anne was born in Hinsdale, Illinois and moved with her family to Fort Worth, Texas in 1945 where she found lifelong friendship with the Eastside Girls and her sisters in P.E.O. Anne met her husband, Jerry, at age 16 and was married at age 20 in 1963. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Anne and Jerry welcomed only daughter, Kathleen, a few years later. Anne continued her education and received her master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University. She worked in hospitals for 20 years as a registered dietitian and director of food service. Anne then went on to pursue a 10-year sales career in food service to hospitals, schools, and elder care facilities. In addition to her career, Anne also served on the board of Tarrant County Harvest and St. Vincent de Paul. Her passion was helping the poor in her community.
Anne was devoted to her family and friends. She was a source of care and comfort to all who knew her. Her family and friends remember her as someone who could always be relied upon in times of need.
Although we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life Anne lived. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and love. While she may have departed this world, her spirit remains with us, reminding us to cherish each day and each other.
