Argie Nell White was born in Cason, TX on December 7, 1938. As the eldest of seven, she was often tasked with cooking for and taking care of her family. She developed her love for cooking and baking at an early age, but she also enjoyed sports and music. During her formative years she played basketball and began piano lessons at age 15. Argie later went on to attend Paul Quinn college with the intention of studying early education.
Argie met Melvin White as a young girl growing up in Cason. They joined in marriage on June 22, 1959. Shortly after they wed, they moved to Fort Worth, TX where they settled and began raising their family.
She applied her God-given nurturing spirit as a teaching assistant at JT Stevens Elementary School. Here she began her teaching career working with special education students. She retired from teaching in 1989. She took great pride and was dedicated to this work; often instilling the importance of education into her family.
Argie was also hands on in ministry. She was instrumental as a choir director, playing the piano, leading choir songs and overseeing the women’s ministry. She dedicated herself to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Anyone that has ever met her knows there was never a shortage of love, good food and a good word. Anytime you stepped into her home, she would feed you, but she would also encourage, advise and share her wisdom. Her devotion to her family and loved ones never wavered.
Argie transitioned from labor to reward on February 13, 2026. She will be missed deeply, but we find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of our Lord.
