

Service: A celebration of Arlan's life will be held 12:30 pm Saturday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Arlan will lay in state from 11 - 12:30 pm.
Arlan was born in Snyder, TX October 5, 1923 to Estil C. and Louisa Tate. He married Bennie Frank Holbrook of Fort Worth in 1942. He worked as a telegraph operator for the T&P Railroad until joining the US Navy in 1944. Arlan served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He graduated from several electronics training schools and was assigned to Communications Station in Azores Islands. After the war, he used his electronics training to gain a job with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he worked 44 years attaining the title of Senior Engineer. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ for more than 50 years where he served as Deacon and Elder. He was a Christian, a loving family man, and a successful engineer.
In addition to his parents, Arlan is preceded in death by his wife, Bennie and his daughter, Caren Lynn Armstrong.
Survivors: Arlan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Deonnah Tate of Crowley; son, Brian Tate of Crowley; son-in-law, Larry Armstrong of Dallas; granddaughter, Allyson Harrison and husband Chris and their soon-to-be-born great grandchild, of Dallas; grandson, Ben Tate and wife Vanessa of Grandview and granddaughter, Emily Tate of Fort Worth; brother Earl Tate and sister-in-law, Keitha Tate of Fort Worth.
