

Arlie L. Johnson, Jr., passed away peacefully on October 30, 2014, in a Fort Worth Hospital with his loving family by his side. Services will be held on Friday, November 7, at 10am in Shannon Rose Hill Chapel with Ministers’ Richard Adams and Jesse Johnson officiating. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Arlie was born on June 30, 1933, to the late Arlie L. Sr. and Hallie Grace Johnson in San Antonio, TX. The family moved to Fort Worth, when he was 3. Arlie was a survivor of paralytic polio for over 70 years and was able to live a full and productive life by his faith, sheer determination and The Grace of God.
Arlie attended public schools in Fort Worth and graduated from R.L. Paschal High School and Brantley Draughon Business College. After graduation, Arlie worked for The White Motor Company as their accountant. He met and married his sweetheart, Carolyn May Wilhite on January 28, 1966, in Burleson, TX.
Later he worked for American General Insurance Company and won numerous Top Hat awards for his service and outstanding sales and retired from the company.
He was very proud to have worked for the City of Crowley in the SOS program following his retirement and made many friends there. He enjoyed serving as clerk in the Tarrant County election polls and did this for many years. Arlie was a member, trustee and lay preacher for Crowley Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Russell Ted Johnson; Brothers; Buddy Allen Johnson and Richard Thomas Johnson
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, Sons: Arlie Wayne Johnson of Fort Worth and David Alan Johnson of Watauga; Brothers: Jimmy Cecil Johnson (Judy) of Crowley and Ronald Jay Johnson of Fort Worth. Sisters: Annie J. Smith of Manor, and Linda J. Frick (Dr. Bill Frick) of Temple; sister in-law, Linda Johnson of Burleson and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of friends that loved him dearly.
