

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arnold Ray Layton, who left us on 11-06-2025 at the age of 84. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on 4-02-1941 in Navarro County in the town of Chatfield, Texas, Arnold was the child of Susie and Rubert Layton. Throughout his life, Arnold was known for his military service in the Army as a lineman and worked for 37 years at Mrs. Baird’s Bakery in maintenance. He loved spending time with family, eating breakfast with his friends, playing his guitar, singing in church, driving his classic cars and working in his shop and on his ranch.
With profound grief, Arnold is survived by his wife Pam Layton, daughter Rene Wortham and husband Chris and son Louis Layton. He has two grandsons, Dalton Wortham and wife Aubrey and Preston Wortham and wife Sarah. He has two great granddaughters, Addy and Marley Wortham. He is also survived by two siblings, his brother Danny Layton and sister Kim Brown and her husband Bobby. He also has many nieces and nephews and lots of other family and friends.
Arnold was preceded in death by his brother Bill “Biggie” Layton and sister Betty Layton.
The family invites relatives and friends to honor Arnold Ray Layton's life on Friday, November 14th at 10:00 AM, to be held at Laurel Lands Chapel of Chimes. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Arnold’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
