

Bubba Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas passed away Friday, August 29, 2014. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Chimes at Laurel Land in Fort Worth, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Bubba Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 11, 1941 to the late Harold and Mildred (Gilmore) Hawkins. He attended Polytechnic High School. He served in the United States Army.
While at Poly, he met Ellen Sterling whom he married on November 18, 1961.
Bubba Hawkins was a caring, loving, understanding and generous husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was known for always taking care of his family. He would do anything to help others. Bubba had a love of both children and animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill Hawkins and his loving son, Waylon Glen Hawkins.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years Ellen Sterling Hawkins of Burleson; son, Marlon Pittman and wife, Jamie of Colleyville; daughter, Chaffin Hawkins Rhoades and husband, Terry of Wills Point; sister, Sheila Sager and husband, Louis, sister-in-law, Mary Virgil and husband, Norman; brothers, David Hawkins and wife, Vallie, Roger Hawkins and wife, Wanda, Gary Hawkins and wife, Debbie, brother-in-law, Mike Deupree and wife, Dee; grandchildren, Kyle Morrison and wife, Lindsey, Kristy Craig and Stephen Hackett, Dylon Hawkins and Pearce Pittman; great grandchildren, Erik, Kinsley and Landry Morrison and Sterling Hackett as well as countless nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
